Hello my darling food enthusiasts.
I've been considering what type of food to choose for this project. History is an important part of how we view ourselves and view others. I'm quite fascinated with my family history and the types of food my ancestors may have had access too. While my dad's side of the family immigrated from England and Scotland shortly after the Mayflower arrived in the US, my mom's side of the family came from France and Sweden later. Besides looking into different food items from the "old country," I have to consider that my favorite meal of the day is breakfast. You must understand that for me, breakfast is the first meal of the day regardless of whether I wake up a 7am or 3 pm. That first meal is breakfast. No matter what.
How, then, can I combine my love for breakfast food and something from a country my family is from? Well my friends, I think I have found a solution. Crepes! Crepes are a fantastic food item from France. They can be eaten for breakfast (the sweet nutella and strawberry ones are my fav!) or dinner (savory crepes with all types of fillings). So there you have it! I shall prepare crepes, eat crepes, love crepes, be crepes for this project! How delightful is that? I'm so excited! Crepes are a wonderfully decadent combination of my family history and my favorite meal of the day.
